5000 Days Video

Think about the presentation on web at 5000 days.

Do you agree or disagree with the projections? I agree that the web is going to grow into something more advanced and more personal to the users but I don't agree with the whole "it's a machine" and it's going to be an organism type of stuff.

Why? I think that besides the techy's of the world the average person is not going to be willing to put that much information about themselves out on the web. I think that there are still too many older people who haven't grown up with the internet and who are not willing to use it that openly.

What did you find most interesting? I think that his theories are probably the most interesting part of the whole thing. I think that his theories are a little far fetched but they are still interesting. He almost makes it sound like the Matrix movie. "We are the machine" "We are the web". It was also interesting to hear that the web has been up for 5000 days.

How do you think the web will continue to transform? I think that it will continue to advance and become more user involved and used more in the business world but at the same time this will have a huge need for higher security.

How will this effect web design? This is allow users to become more creative and create pages that are more involved and make pages that look more visually appealing.

Good and Bad Websites

Well I searched photographers websites just because I thought it would be easier to compare websites that have similar interests. I mean it wouldn't honestly be fair to compare site like dell to a general store website.

So here's the bad.
http://www.howardsphotography.com/index.html
This website wasn't completely horrible but there are some things that I didn't like about it.
  • The background of the site was very plan and kind of boring. It wasn't eye catching at all.
  • The photos were too small and you weren't able to click on them to make them bigger so that you could see them better
  • The color scheme and the arrangement of the text was horrible. It has green and purple text. (eww not professional looking) and the text is not in very good bullets or paragraphs.
The good website is http://www.lorei.com/index2.php
  • This website has clear and bold headlines across the top with subtitles when you put the courser over them.
  • When you choice a gallery to look at it has a large picture in the middle with smaller pictures on the sides that you can click on to see them large.
  • You can contact this photographer by e-mail right on the site with any questions.
  • You can also view and order prints online which is a great advantage to have in this business.
